The Thai government has announced a major push to elevate the healthcare and medical industry into a primary New Growth Engine for the nation while accelerating efforts to position Thailand as a global medical hub through investment promotion, innovation and international collaboration.

Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul presided over the opening ceremony of International Healthcare Week 2026, one of the region’s largest healthcare and medical industry events. The exhibition brings together more than 1,200 companies, healthcare experts, investors and policymakers from over 100 countries to create opportunities for trade, investment, business matching and collaboration across the healthcare value chain, spanning pharmaceuticals, medical devices, medical technology, laboratory services, healthcare and wellness. The event runs from July 8-10 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC).

“Hosting this event is not only a proud milestone for Thailand but also directly aligns with the government’s key policy. We are fully committed to driving the medical and healthcare industry as a key new growth engine. Our goal is clear: to position Thailand as a world-class Global Medical Hub by raising product standards, driving innovative healthcare services, and boosting economic value within the Healthcare Economy across all dimensions,” the prime minister said.

He added that the government believes today’s economic challenges cannot be addressed by any country alone. “True success requires international cooperation,” he said. “This event demonstrates collaboration across the entire medical industry supply chain, from upstream to downstream. The business negotiations and partnerships established here will help create greater stability, prosperity and sustainability through tangible cooperation in healthcare and technology.”

Public Health Minister Pattana Prompat said the event is far more than a conventional trade exhibition.

“It is an important mechanism for translating the government’s policy into tangible outcomes through collaboration between the public and private sectors to build a stronger, more prosperous and sustainable healthcare economy for Thailand,” he said.

The minister added that International Healthcare Week 2026 brings together four major international exhibitions under one platform and reflects close cooperation between the public and private sectors to strengthen Thailand’s position as a regional medical and healthcare hub.

Mr. Manu Leopairote, Chairman of Informa Markets (Thailand), the event organizer, said that International Healthcare Week 2026 integrates four leading international exhibitions into a single mega-platform. It co-locates CPHI South East Asia, World Health Expo (WHX) Bangkok, Medtec Southeast Asia, and the Thailand Medical & Wellness Expo 2026, covering everything from pharmaceutical research and manufacturing to medical devices, health tech, equipment manufacturing, and wellness services.

The event features over 1,200 exhibitors from around the world, alongside more than 200 academic conferences and seminars, and targeted business matchmaking sessions. These activities allow entrepreneurs, investors, and policymakers to network and expand investments, boosting Thailand’s standing as a medical and healthcare hub in Asia. More than 26,000 attendees from across the globe are expected to participate.

“In addition to showcasing cutting-edge innovations across the four exhibitions, we place strong emphasis on advancing professional knowledge through more than 200 specialized seminar sessions, many of which offer Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits,” Manu said.

“This strategy will help strengthen the healthcare industries of Thailand and ASEAN and support their sustainable growth on the global stage. International Healthcare Week 2026 is more than an exhibition—it is an important springboard that enables partners across the industry to demonstrate Thailand’s strengths and elevate the country’s healthcare industry in the eyes of the world.”

International Healthcare Week 2026, organized by Informa Markets (Thailand), runs from July 8-10 in Halls 1-3 and Halls 5-8 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. The event is expected to serve as another key platform supporting Thailand’s Healthcare Economy policy by promoting economic growth, investment and international healthcare collaboration across the entire healthcare value chain through four flagship exhibitions:

  • CPHI South East Asia – ASEAN’s comprehensive exhibition, technology showcase and conference for the pharmaceutical manufacturing and pharmaceutical supply industries.
  • World Health Expo (WHX) Bangkok (formerly Asia Health and Medlab Asia) – An international exhibition for medical devices, laboratory equipment, hospital services and healthcare systems.
  • Medtec Southeast Asia – A leading international exhibition and conference dedicated to the design and manufacture of medical devices.
  • Thailand Medical & Wellness Expo 2026 – A medical, health and wellness innovation exhibition jointly organized by Thailand’s Department of Health Service Support under the Ministry of Public Health and Informa Markets to promote Thailand as a global Medical Hub while showcasing the country’s wellness and beauty strengths to the international market.
