Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati Krom Luang Ratchasarinee Siripatchara Maha Watchara Ratchathida represented His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua at King Prajadhipok’s Institute Academic Conference for 2020.
On November 6, 2020 at 1:37PM, His Majesty the King graciously appointed Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati Krom Luang Ratchasarinee Siripatchara Maha Watchara Ratchathida to represent him at the opening of the conference at Impact Muang Thong Thani in Pakkret district of Nonthaburi province. The conference is to run from November 6 to 8 on the topic “A New Vision of Decentralization to Address Inequality: Lessons from COVID-19”. Attendees will exchange experiences and ideas on inequality and discuss how to enhance democracy under various circumstances, including during the COVID-19 pandemic. They are to extrapolate ideas and approaches for remedying inequality and producing a better democracy in the nation.
Activities taking place during the conference this year include an exhibition of works by the institute’s students and local administrations, speeches by distinguished individuals and seminars on topics such as “The Power of Citizens for a Stronger Community”. A key matter of the conference is how circumstances such as politics, technology, natural disasters and the pandemic have triggered adaptation in the public arena and how they are adjusting to New Normal. Attendees will seek to understand how existing cultural and social resources are being repurposed to strengthen the economy and grassroots communities and how a social safety net can be created.
