Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand, represented His Majesty The King presided over the Graduation Ceremony to the Graduates of Academic Year 2019 at Silpakorn Universary Sanam Chandra Palace Campus in Nakhon Pathom Province, Kingdom of Thailand.

 

On this occasion, Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Walailak, The Princess Srisavangavadhana received the Doctor Degree of Philosophy, Program in Visual Arts, Faculty of Painting, Sculpture and Graphic Arts, Silpakorn University.

For Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Walailak of Thailand, The Princess Srisavangavadhana, although she had already obtained 4 degrees in scientific fields, she also chose the way she loves in academic field which is art. She chooses to adapt her own art skills together with her permanent scientific research and technology, which can be benefit to the community development in public health.

 

Drawing is her favourite activity as she has got much concentrate with this for many hours. Her daughter, Princess Siribha Chudhabhorn also advised her to practise Thai traditional drawing line to upgrade her skills. The Princess then started learning from the university lecturer from the Faculty of Painting, Sculpture and Graphic Arts.

The Princess decided to enroll her Ph.D. in Visual Arts at the Faculty of Painting, Sculpture and Graphic Arts, Silpakorn University. Through online enrollment, she had her own art portfolio with a tiger-drawing to the faculty staff. She registered like a general student in the academic year 2017.

 

3 years of her studies, she attended the classes at the university and also at home. Despite having many engagements, also her unwell health condition, she still practised drawing and collects a number of drawings to the lecturers. Chulabhorn also presented her thesis and exhibition thesis to the public, following the course curriculum with an aim to develop the art profession.

Her first exhibition thesis “Various Pattern; Diversity of Life” was held in March 2018 at The Queen’s Gallery in Bangkok, and the second one was held in January 2020 at Pimarnthip Art Gallery in Pak Chong District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. She finally attended the defense examination in order to graduate.

The Princess Srisavangavadhana, 63, spared her time with her studies together with her own duties. She finally graduated in Ph.D. early this year and attended the graduation ceremony on 30 November 2020. The Princess received the certificate from her own elder sister Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn at the university’s Sanam Chandra Palace Campus in Nakhon Pathom Province.
